National Press Club Endeavors to Assist Obama PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 29 April 2008
Sher Zieve
Like a hero victoriously returning from a major battle, Jeremiah Wright entered the National Press Club’s Sher Zieveforum to a standing ovation and cheers of welcome. Wright had been invited to speak before this “august body”, ostensibly to explain his anti-American and anti-white comments—comments that include “God damn America” and his preaching that ‘white folks’ (and the USA) introduced HIV/AIDS and illicit drugs to the black community. He has also said—as did anti-American Professor Ward Churchill—that 9/11/2001 was the fault of the United States of America.

Those who still do not believe that the mainstream media both support and have been “in the tank” for Presidential Candidate Barack Obama have serious denial issues. Obama’s mentor and pastor for over 20 years, Jeremiah Wright, has made incendiary and unconscionable comments against white people, Jews, Italians (calling them “garlic noses”) and the USA. On Monday, the National Press Club gave Wright the opportunity to explain himself—and in my opinion to help Obama’s candidacy. If Wright would explain his comments—hopefully as denouncements—the press could pat him on the back and continue their adulation of Candidate Obama. But tragically for these media, instead of doing so, during his approximately 60-minute rant Wright chose to defend himself and his comments.

Throughout his speech—which was more of a sermon to a willing congregation—Wright compared South Africa’s former apartheid to the current treatment of black Americans in the USA. He preached reconciliation, while continuing to blame white folks for all of the blacks’ and the worlds’ ills. He explained how he believes Black Theology and Black Liberation Theology inexorably separate blacks from the whites (and presumably white understanding), while preaching out of the other side of his mouth that his church practices racial inclusion. Wright said black theology was contained in the Holy Bible (of course as black theology is a relatively new concept and offering no reference to it is actually included) and referenced Isaiah 61. He further condemned the ‘white man’s power base’ by saying that black people are given heftier criminal sentences than are whites for the same drug crimes. He even blamed the USA for now-deceased Saddam Hussein’s using biological warfare on the Kurds!

All of Wright’s odious comments were met with “yeahs” from audience members.

Wright then turned his sermon to the Iraq war and politics when he blamed the USA and the Bush Administration for Iraq and verbally slapped VP Cheney for not enlisting during the Viet Nam war. These comments were met with wild applause and a standing ovation from the audience.

Wright ended his malicious sermon with: “This is not an attack on Jeremiah Wright. It’s an attack on the Black Church!” Translation: “If you criticize my hate-speech, you’re a bigot and a racist against all black people and especially black churches!” This is what political correctness—only applied to specific groups—has wrought folks. No one is allowed to criticize certain groups or individuals for any of their heinous speech or actions. If they do, they will be labeled “racist.”

Like it or not, this is the man that Candidate Obama referred to as a “father figure” and the same man that mentored Obama for over 20 years. And again, like it or not, associations with others do count if they are defended. Unfortunately, Senator Obama has had many admitted associations and friendships with hate-mongers, terrorists and other corrupt politicians. These are associations and friendships that have appeared in many articles written by members of the New Media. Can we-the-people allow this individual—or any who would support the perpetrators of abject lies and hate-speech—to be the president of the United States of America? Let’s don’t.
