Sanctuary City Launches Costly Ad Campaign

Corruption Chronicles
A proud illegal immigrant sanctuary that recently became the nation’s first major city to give official sanctuarycityidentification cards to those in the country illegally will launch a costly public campaign promoting its services.

San Francisco’s taxpayer-funded advertising campaign will feature television and radio advertisements as well as multi language brochures detailing the city’s sanctuary policy for illegal immigrants. Officials say it's San Francisco’s response to federal immigration raids , which they believe have scared illegal aliens into not accessing city services, reporting crimes or sending children to school.

The publicly funded campaign was the brilliant idea of San Francisco’s notoriously open-border advocate mayor, Gavin Newsom. He has joined forces with the Board of Supervisors, Department of Public Health, labor and immigrant rights groups to create a government-wide public awareness campaign to assure immigrants know the city won’t target them for using public services.

San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors enacted its sanctuary policy in 1989, instructing law enforcement and city departments not to assist federal authorities in enforcement of federal immigration laws. When federal agents began conducting immigration raids last year, Mayor Newsom publicly reaffirmed the city’s sanctuary policy and ordered all departments to ensure workers abide by it.

City officials say the expensive outreach campaign is necessary to assure that “undocumented immigrants,” who they call “deserving people,” take advantage of city services. Public dollars have also gone into hiring new city employees to help address the negative impacts of recent federal government enforcement.
