I certainly hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day, now it is time to discuss this independence we were celebrating. Are we truly independent or has that just become one of those words we throw around when we want to feel important? Just yesterday Hugo Chavez announced that he would block oil trade and European investments from those who enact immigration policies he deems harsh, what does that have to do with us you ask? He is aiming his words at the EU but we all know he means us too. With gas prices rising he can feel free to terrorize any country he wishes and why because he has oil, we don’t and if we do not do as he says well he won’t sell his high priced oil to us and then what? Feeling very independent right now? We have a tyrant telling us the great United States of America what we can and cannot do and they never landed the troops on our soil, they never fired a shot, but for all practical purposes he owns us.

Now our guys, the ones we elected are running around in taxpayer funded vehicles telling us how bad they feel for us, but drill here absolutely not. Most people know just the threat that we are about to drill for our own oil would bring down the prices because that is why they were so low for so long, they knew if the kept the prices low we would not drill for our own oil and that would be less competition, they hear we are serious about drilling you will see the prices start to drop. But we cannot stop there; we must drill for our own oil or be at the mercy of people like Chavez. If we are to be truly independent then we must be able to provide for ourselves and right now we cannot. We must get past the fact that the democrats honestly think it is best to be owned by Chavez or any Middle East leader who happens to sell oil and we must fight for our independence.

If we are to be truly independent we must stand up to those democrats including the one running for president and we must demand energy independence. We must demand that they stop telling us to cut back, give up more, kiss their butts, these people work for us not the other way around and it is high time we reminded them of that. If they want to bow to the almighty Chaves they can do it on their own time, but when they are working for us they need to concentrate on what is best for America and that is drilling here. I don’t think many people realize that just by drilling in America we can bring back needed jobs to our country, needed economy and most of all needed pride. America does not just belong to the high and mighty, it does not belong to just the elected few, it belongs to me and you and it is high time we started acting like it. It is time to take back our independence; it is time to fight and fight like hell your country is depending on you.
