Think about this when you take that next bite of lettuceCarolyn HilemanMaybe she should not have fought her attacker, but how could she not when she had a four month old baby in her car? The rest of the women who the carjackers attacked are still alive, but she is not, the news story does not tell what happened to her baby but I suspect since it is not listed as a victim it is OK. Apparently these two men had been doing this most of the day at a convenience store, in Northeast Harris County and it was being video taped. However, from what I can discern from the Houston papers there had been no warnings issued about this crime spree and one of the men has escaped to Mexico. I know that is second nature not to get involved out of fear for your own safety, but when do you get to the point you can no longer turn your head and pretend nothing is happening? We have a four month old child that will only know her mother by the heroic stories her family tells it, a fiancé who will now have to some how go on with his life all because not one person stopped these men before they killed. Of course it might have been stopped had Timoteo Rios been placed on hold when he was in the jail earlier last year, but once again they did not wish to add an additional burden to a hard working illegal immigrant. You see, our concerns, our lives, our families are not near as important as the lives of the illegal immigrants just looking to better their lives. You might have heard about the raids this past week, and you might believe that for once our government is on board, you would be wrong. As a government attorney, Lachus was involved in sweeping raids on the Swift & Company packing plants in 2006. |
