Alan Caruba has enjoyed a long writing career beginning as a journalist in the 1960s working for weekly and then daily newspapers. He is the author of several books, the two most recent are "Warning Signs" and "Right Answers", collections of his weekly column that he began writing in the 1990s for the website of The National Anxiety Center, a clearinghouse for information about "scare campaigns" designed to influence public policy and opinion. Focusing initially on the environmental movement, he now writes across a spectrum of topics that include energy, education, immigration, Islam, national security and defense, and politics. In addition to the Center, Caruba is a veteran book review, a founding member of the National Book Critics Circle, and writes a monthly report on new fiction and non-fiction for Bookviews.com . Since the 1970s, Caruba has been a public relations counselor. His website is Caruba.com .
