For those of us who have come to loath her and Bill over the years, it was a welcome moment, but now we have Obama to loath for at least the next five months until we can be rid of yet another Democrat liar, schemer, and leech on the body politic.

The fact that the Democrats have abandoned the tradition of a strong, white man as candidate probably speaks more to the failure of their earlier choices, with the exception of the draft-dodging, skirt-chasing Bill Clinton who "awe shucks" his way into the Oval Office for two unfortunate terms, one of which saw the Democrats lose control of Congress after four decades, the other of which became a stain on Monica’s dress.

So why NOT run a woman and a black man? Nothing else has worked or worked out well. That dilettante, John Kerry, proved a big disappointment. Al Gore lost and became a raving lunatic proclaiming the end of the world. Jimmy Carter was a disaster who has since seemingly embraced every dictator on Earth. The roster includes McGovern and Dukakis, now both remembered for their poor campaign performances, their soft, squishy approach to national and world affairs.

In what we must remember are strictly Democrat primary elections, Hillary got outplayed by a smart kid straight out of the Chicago political machine. Few people could have told you who he was when the primaries began. Now, in the villages of Kenya , they are getting out the drums and singing songs about him.

Now that the cheers have died away, I think a lot of those Hillary supporters are going to stay home in November. Their hopes were so high. Their loss was so crushing. The crown was snatched away and the Clintons kicked to the side of the road while Obamamania carried the day.

Never mind that Obama changes his statements so fast that yesterday's firm conviction is today's reversal and revision, Hillary lost and for that Obama cannot and should not be forgiven by true Democrats. He rolled up the delegates, but he also lost ten of the last sixteen primaries, including large States such as Pennsylvania , Ohio , and Texas . This does not bode well for the youngster.

Now the grownups must turn their attention to a Republican candidate whose convictions are well known, if not always popular. He has been tested in war. He has a long record of public service.  He is a nice old white man named John McCain and, in the voting booth, those who dreamed of Hillary will find their hands tremble at the thought of trusting the fate of the nation to "the kid."
